What Happens to the Wood After a Tree Is Removed?

Short answer: We haul it away. Branches, logs and chips are all taken off your property as part of the job, and we rake up and sweep before we leave.

Cleanup Is Included

With Richmond Hill Tree Guy, cleanup is part of every job, not an extra. When the tree is down, we cut it into manageable pieces, load it up and take it away. Then we rake up the chips and sawdust and sweep the driveway.

Want to Keep Some Wood?

Some people like to keep rounds for firewood or a few logs for the garden. If that’s you, mention it when we give you the quote and we’ll talk it through.

Firewood Tip

Fresh-cut wood needs time to dry before it burns well, usually many months stacked off the ground with air flow around it. Note that ash wood from areas with emerald ash borer shouldn’t be moved long distances, because it can spread the beetle.

Wood Chips

Chips from stump grinding can be raked into the hole or hauled away, whichever you prefer. See stump grinding.
